My friend in Romania has a 2007 Open Astra GTC and ever since she had the battery replaced the screen will not turn on and the climate controls are not working. Radio and CD player are working fine. Everything else related to electronics seems to work. She took the car to 3 different mechanics and they couldn't figure out what the problem is.

You need to check the wire from the coolant sensor connector to the ECU connector. Use you multimeter to check this. Its the top ECU connector and its pin 10 you need to check.
